Gloria Steinem has revealed to Access Hollywood, that her and the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle have teamed up to cold-call American voters.
That’s right. The two iconic women are sitting at Gloria Steinem’s dinning table cold-calling Americans urging them to get out and vote in the Nov 3rd elections. The calls were simple and to the point, Steinem descibes the calls, “She said, ‘Hello I’m Meg,’ and ‘Hello I’m Gloria,’ and ‘Are you going to vote?”
The two first got together earlier this summer for a “historic backyard chat”, as described on the Makers Women Instagram account, to discuss representation, voting and feminism. During their Q&A, Markle and Steinem instantly click and it is as though you are watching two friends have a casual chat; it is not wonder the two have decided to team up once more.
Meghan Markle has always taken a very active role in shedding light on the importance of voting; specifically, she has always been one to encourage women to get out and practice their right to vote. With Steinem being a huge inspiration for Markle, in a statement to voters, the Duchess was quoted as saying, “I firmly believe that we vote to honor those who came before us and to protect those who come after us. The two are said to end the call with “I hope you enjoy our conversation as much as I did and that it allows you to reflect on who inspires you to vote as we approach this upcoming election. Your voice matters. Please use it.”
