Meghan Markle and Prince Harry to be Featured in First Ever Televised Time 100

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have had quite the year- from formally stepping down from the Royal family, to moving to Los Angeles they are often making headlines. So, it is no surprise that the couple has been picked as one TIME 100’s 2020 Most Influential People in the World

TIME 100: The Most Influential People of 2020 is an annual listicle featuring leaders and creators in the entertainment industry who have had an major impact in pop culture in the last year. Previous TIME 100 honorees include President Barack Obama, Elon Musk, Taylor Swift, and other heavy-weights.

To much of their fans surprise, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have decided to drop their Royal titles for the show. In a newly released commercial promo for the special, the couple is listed as simply “Harry and Meghan”. In the E! exclusive video, viewers get a sneak peak of the other stars to be honored in the special including, John Legend, Trevor Noah and Halsey.

The event will be televised for the first time ever as the original in-person gala had to be postponed due to coronavirus. This will not be the first time the couple is featured on TIME 100’s list however, the couple was featured back in 2018. It is then that we got a glimpse into the very special bond between Meghan Markle and actress Priyanka Chopra. In a touching tribute to the Duchess, Chopra described her as “…an important influencer in a world that needs strong public figured to respect and look up to. People the world can be inspired by Meghan, standing shoulder to shoulder with Harry, will be princess for the people.”
