DuchessLA likes to highlight charities and events that help make the world a better place- we’re sure the Duke and Duchess would agree. In this feature of Events You Should Know About, we wanted to feature: A Conversation with Bill Gates and Don Cheadle as it pertains to climate change a virtual event happening this Friday, February 19 at 11 am. The Duke and Duchess have spoken a lot about climate change and the need to change and protect the environment.
The Los Angeles World Affairs Council and Town Hall will be hosting Bill Gates as he sits down award-winning actor and co-author of “Darfur, Not On Our Watch: The Mission to End Genocide,” Don Cheadle to discuss his new book, “How to Avoid a Climate Disaster.” The Los Angeles World Affairs Council and Town Hall is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization focused on advancing global and civic engagement among those living in Los Angeles.
In his new book, Gates highlights a plan for how the world can get to zero greenhouse gas emissions. Gates has spent the last decade investigating the causes and effects of climate change and will discuss both his work and his findings.
Your ticket not only gets you access to the live event, but it includes a hardcover copy of “How to Avoid a Climate Disaster” (including sales tax and shipping via USPS priority mail in the U.S.). Remember because this is a virtual event, you can attend from just about anywhere in the world!
